Install Minecraft modpacks in one click

The Dawn Minecraft launcher has Modrinth's modpack library built in. Installing a pack makes a new profile with the pack's Minecraft version, loader and mods already set, so there's nothing to configure by hand.

1. Open the Modpacks tabIn Dawn, open Mods and switch to the Modpacks tab.
2. Find a packSearch for the pack by name, or scroll through the list.
3. Install itPress Install. Dawn creates a profile with the pack's Minecraft version and loader and downloads its mods.
4. PlayOpen the new profile and press Play.

A .mrpack is Modrinth's modpack format. It holds the pack's config files and a list of the mods it needs, and the launcher downloads those mods from Modrinth when you import it.

To import one, drag the file onto Dawn or press Import on the Profiles page and pick it. The same works for .dawnpack and .lcpack files. If your pack lives in a .minecraft folder, Dawn can copy that folder into a new profile instead, and the original folder isn't changed.

Big packs with hundreds of mods need a strong CPU and plenty of RAM. On an older PC or a laptop, start with a light pack. Fabulously Optimized, the most downloaded modpack on Modrinth, stays close to vanilla and is built around performance mods.
